Twins with some dancing

(click video twice to open it larger in youtube)

Sorry for the poor lighting and the mess in the background. It was an impromptu video. Some things to take note of while you are watching. Henry calls MC "Bubba" b/c she calls him "Bubba", however, he does not want us to call her that. If we ask, "Where's Bubba?" he will not look around at all. He will wait until we say Mary Catherine or Sissy.

I wish they had danced a bit more b/c their moves are hysterical. Jason taught them everything he knows...

The Cuteness Never Ends...

I could seriously write all day long about the twins at this age...the good and the bad.   Since this is their 'baby book', I think I'll do just that...write as often as possible.

Today, it's been a good day filled with sweet and funny interactions.

Earlier, we were all in the bathroom and the twins were spinning around and around.  I think Henry started it, but within seconds MC joined in.  They kept falling and laughing.  It was so funny!  I tried to get it on video, but of course, that didn't work.  I did get some funny video that I might try to post, even if it wasn't what I wanted.

Just now upstairs, I was getting ready to change the twins into pjs for bed so the twins were scrambling to play with everything in sight.  Henry grabs two sets of intertwined stethoscopes.  He untangles them and walks across the room and gives Mary Catherine one of them.

Honestly, it doesn't get any better than that in my opinion.  He is so sweet I could bite him.

Our Favorite Toy...

I love how MC has her knee up and looks so into it.
I love how Henry is watching her work.

One of the twins' favorite toys right now is their small magna doodles.  They love to write on these and love to have us draw pictures on them as well.  Over and over they will bring it to us and attempt to say what they want us to draw.

Mary Catherine was writing on Henry's pad with her pencil.

Breakfast

Silly me thought that it would be years down the road when I would feel the sting of the increased grocery bill for a family of seven.

I guess I didn't take into account what great eaters Mary Catherine and Henry would be at this point in their lives.  I strongly believe that is because they have always been fed 'real' food like we eat and rarely eat the bland baby friendly foods.

For example this morning, the babies have been in their boosters for almost thirty minutes and have each eaten a bowl of eggs, dry Kashi cereal, 1/2 a banana, and two bowls of shredded wheat with milk.

Honestly, that is probably more than what Jackson eats for breakfast and he's huge.  I cannot imagine how much the twins would eat if they weren't 'small' for their age.

Empathy...

I'm wondering if there is a study out there that states that multiples develop empathy earlier than singletons.

Even though Mary Catherine and Henry are only 19 months they can be so sweet and considerate of each other.  The times I notice it the most is in regards to food.  They often share food and carry sippy cups to each other.  It melts my heart.

However, this sweetness is only reserved for each other.  Other siblings do not receive this sharing of food and toys, but rather shrieks and shrills that can break glass miles away.

Today, the empathy reached a new level.  Henry was put into time-out because when I told him I was going to change his diaper he flipped his lid.  So, I put him in time-out, in the usual spot, and Mary Catherine went and sat down beside him.  It was so cute that I just let it go.  Of course, it backfired on me because then Henry didn't want to get up and was content to sit there as long as she did.  It wasn't until I got her up and put her in her bed that he gave me a hug (which signifies 'sorry') and got up to get his diaper changed without hysteria.

A Day with Parker

Mary Catherine wanted someone to push her in the doll stroller.

 "Jack" (will you push me?)
I guess I'll just scoot myself forward if no one else will help.

Here I go across the kitchen...

Seriously? No one will help me?

 "What's Up?"

Parker needed a little time with her na-na when she first got here.

Parker said she needed a snack.  When the babies heard the word snack they were like the birds on Nemo.... "snack! snack! snack!" over and over....

Parker stayed at our house today.
While she was here I took some pictures.
Isn't she cute?

A Few Little Snapshots

When I set Henry by the front door on the rug and told him to 'stay' for the picture he started crying.  Apparently, he thought he was in time-out because that spot is about three feet from his usual time-out spot.  Thankfully, he calmed down after I said he wasn't in time-out about ten times.

Henry appears quite a bit taller than Mary Catherine, but he has on higher shoes. However, you can see that he is built completely differently.  Thank goodness he's the stockier one.  I'm not sure I'd like to be built bigger than my twin brother, if I were MC.

In an attempt to get a cute shot, I asked the twins to hug.  Obviously, I need to assist them with this skill because Mary Catherine leaned in to Henry expecting him to hug her, as we do, but yet he has no idea what to do.  Poor Mary Catherine... We worked on it later on, but we have a ways to go.
