Henry has a small blanket that he calls "Ni-Ni" and he holds it when he sucks his thumb. Unless we are traveling, I do not allow "Ni-Ni" to leave his crib because I don't want him sucking his thumb.
Mary Catherine sucks a pacifier that we call "Pappy". Before she can get out of the crib she has to take her pappy out of her mouth.
My babies are so crazy for these things that they will stay in their cribs just to be able to suck their thumbs and pacifiers.
I say, "Fine by me!" Eventually, they give up and come out.
