Seven Months (and a half)
I haven't posted in awhile. We've been so busy with life that I haven't really had time to blog.
I thought I would post a little bit about how the twins are doing. We haven't been to the doctor since our six month check up and won't go again until nine months, so no new stats on them.
My milk production continues to be an on going issue, but hopefully some new drugs I've ordered will assist with that issue.
I've been trying to introduce baby food to them with very little success. Honestly I can only get about one bite in each of them before they refuse to open their mouths. Henry just spits it all back out over and over and Mary Catherine turns her head to the side and won't budge. I think if she could turn completely around she would, but she's strapped in, so she settles for just smushing her face into the side of the high chair.
Good Grief.
Overall, they are very good babies. They have wonderful temperaments and are a joy to be around! They don't nap as well as my other children some days, but I think it's because they still eat more often than KJ, K & J did which is probably because of my milk supply. They eat 5 times a day at this age, where my other children only ate 4 times a day. So, the time between meals is shorter which makes for shorter naps.
Mary Catherine is a hoot. She is really in that grabby grab stage! If you are wearing a necklace it better be slobber proof because she's got it in her mouth as soon as you pick her up. Around the family she's all smiles and giggles, but around other people she is a little slow to warm up. You will probably get the big blue eyed stare like Kerrigan used to give people. She is still working on tummy time quite a bit so that she can work on those core muscles. We put her in the super saucer some and she likes all those toys too.
Henry is a flirt! He is big smiles for everyone! Of course, since he still spits up, those smiles come with a price if you pick him up. To us, the spit has improved 100%, but to other people that receive the spit up they don't see it the same way. He loves to be in the Johnny Jump Up. He just jumps and babbles, jumps and babbles all while chewing on a toy. He must be working on some more teeth.
The two of them are so sweet together! Sometimes when Mary Catherine gets excited she squeals (as girls are known to do) and it startles Henry and he just cries and cries. I usually laugh because it's so cute.
The one thing they do not like is if you pick up one baby and leave the room. You can hold the twin in the same room without issue, but if you leave the room with their twin, watch out! Crying is soon to ensue.
